THERE is an alternative available to Robert Thomson, who complains about paying £2 for parking at Kidderminster Hospital (Letters, August 25).

He could pay £2.30 return fare - or less than £1 if a pensioner or unfortunate enough to be disabled - on the bus to attend the short-lived appointments he describes.

Perhaps we could remind ourselves that provision of car parking involves depriving hospital in-patients of healing green surroundings of lawns and shrubs.
