CHADDESLEY Corbett picked up four points from their first two West Midlands League division two games with a draw against Wednesbury and a victory at Sedgley.

Chaddesley took an early lead in their opening day 3-3 draw with a superb effort from Onwerekogza Okenedu.

But although their hosts started slowly, Corbett failed to take advantage and allowed Wednesbury back into the game.

Bradley Felton, who troubled the Chaddesley rearguard throughout the match, levelled the scores after a spell of Wednesbury pressure .

Keith Bradley almost put Chaddesley ahead again with a spectacular40-yard effort after spotting the keeper off his line

Shortly after half-time Wednesbury went ahead, although there was some controversy surrounding Richard Evans' goal as it appeared that Shu Hiong Tan was pushed off the ball.

Corbett equalised through Marvin Whitter, but soon were trailing again, thanks to Felton. With 15 minutes remaining Chaddesley brought on substitutes Roy Grant and Peter Begley, and got their just reward when Okenedu equalised with a splendid shot from the edge of the box.

Player-coach Neil Lucas was delighted with Okenedu's display, saying: "Onwerekogza Okenedu's response to being dropped has been to score three goals in two games on his return to the side".

Chaddesley stepped up a gear in their win at Sedgley with two fine goals from Mark McKinstry, including a superb chip, and a rare strike from James Dale.

Man of the match was Tony Vale, who terrorised the home defence throughout after a long absence from football.

He said: "We played well and after we scored our third goal we stroked the ball around superbly.

"I am finding my fitness after not playing since before Christmas and felt just right."

Chaddesley travel to Darlaston at 2.45pm on Saturday with players to meet at Land Oak for 12.15pm.
