TOOLS worth a combined total of over £6,000 were taken in a raid on Stourport's Sandy Lane Industrial Estate.

The thieves broke into the industrial unit on the estate between 6pm last Wednesday and 8am on Thursday.

Cars are serviced and repaired in the unit hit by the raiders.

Among tools taken were Snap-on hand and socket sets, a range of Draper tools and paint spraying equipment, as well as a red petty cash box.

PC Ben Wharton said: "This is a large quantity of tools to lose and our inquiries into the incident are continuing.

"We are appealing for anyone who noticed any activity on the industrial estate overnight on Wednesday to give police a call.

"We're also interested in hearing from anyone who is offered paint spraying or polishing tools or any of the Snap-on mechanical tools like these for sale in suspicious circumstances."
