AMAZING Feet Running Club's Sarah Armstrong achieved the qualifying time to represent her club in next year's Flora London Marathon, when she recorded three hours 43 minutes 45 seconds in the Wolverhampton Marathon on Sunday.
This was Armstrong's first marathon and she achieved 55th position out of 193, finishing as sixth lady and third F35.
David Pye came 92nd in 4-05-40, knocking 25 minutes off his previous marathon personal best, set 18 years ago. Pye finished sixth M50. His son, Shaw Pye, came 34th in 3-20-02.
In the accompanying half-marathon, Martin Howles finished 51st out of 928 in a personal best time of 1-31-02. Liz Belcher was 706th in 2-15-13 and Bernadette Byrne was 727th (and fifth F50) in 2-17-57.
Despite various injuries, Richard Baker returned to racing with a 43-54 finish in the Autumn five-miler at Coventry, where he finished 219th out of 261 runners. He was in action two days later, recording 1-34-53 in the Spire 10-mile race at Chesterfield.
