RISING Sun A caused the biggest surprise of the night in the opening games of the Banks's Bewdley darts league with a 6-1 thumping of Cock & Magpie.
Rob Jones, Mick Link and Aidi Finn were in early season form for the Sun with only Paul Walsh being defeated by Maggie's player Dave Willets.
Last season's doubles winners Duncan Taylor and Andy Brown made sure of a 4-3 victory for Waggon B over early favourites Waggon & Horses C.
They produced some excellent darts, hitting at least a ton on each throw.
Waggon A had no problems beating Wribbenhall Soc 5-2, Black Boy A were no match for Bliss Gate going down 5-2 and Black Boy B lost by the same scoreline against Bewdley A.
Chris Mason got the highest clock-out of the night with his 109 out shot for Rising Sun B but their opponents Great Western won the match in a thrilling deciding game.
Both teams needed double 16 to win the game but Western kept their nerve on their own board taking the match 4-3.
Red Lion A captain Mark Wilks had no mercy for his brother Darren who is captain of Red Lion B as the A's demolished the B's 6-1.
