WOLVERLEY Social fell at the last hurdle in the Wilden Industrial Estates Sunday Cup, when Waterfront won the final by 12 runs.

The result was in doubt until the final over of this exciting encounter.

Waterfront struggled against the Wolverley bowling, Scott Fowler taking 2-15 off six overs. Them Amjid took control and hit 104, leading Waterfront to their total of 219-6.

In reply Dean Wilkes was the mainstay, ending just five runs short of his century.

He was ably supported by Alan Bishop (24) and Julian Noyes (32).

Waterfront 219-6, Wolverley Social 207-6.

The Sunday Plate final will be played at Hartlebury on Sunday: Hartlebury v Spennells (R Price, K Jordan), 2pm start.

There will be a full league meeting at Wilden Club on Tuesday starting at 7.30pm, when club secretaries are asked to return outstanding trophies, and batting, bowling best performances are to be handed in, and rule changes for 2006.
