DESPITE losing 3-1 at higher league Droitwich last Satu-rday, Pershore's men took great heart from their display in the opening pre-season warm-up.
Toby Whiting came close to opening the scoring on an afternoon when the new strike-force of Jock Robinson and Anthony Handley were a constant threat.
However, it was the hosts who secured a 2-0 lead at the interval after which Pershore more than held their own and halved the arrears courtesy of a Rob Curley penalty flick.
Stuart White produced a couple of fine saves but a lapse of concentration at the back gifted Droitwich a third goal in the later stages.
Fitness was a decisive factor in the second team's 4-1 loss to Droitwich.
Pershore trailed 2-0 at half-time but only some great saves from 30th birthday boy Lee Wickersham kept them in the game. He was beaten twice before Rob Smith scored a late consolation.
Promotion from Coaching Solutions West Midlands Div-ision Two is the aim this winter and new players are welcome to join this progressive club. Ring Toby Whiting on 01386 422614.
