WORCESTER Nomads entertained Pedmore in the Worcestershire County League division two.

Nomads made use of the pitch that produced over 500 runs the week before by deciding to bat first. This proved a good decision as they gained victory by 192 runs.

The Pedmore opening bowlers bowled a good line and restricted the Nomads openers to 22 off the first 10 overs. Derek Austin soon perished attempting to increase the runs, but then Malcolm Jones (115) and Huw Dimond (72), put on 170 for the second wicket. The runs continued to flow with Paul Gardiner, Danny Rees and Steve Bowman scoring at a steady pace, enabling Nomads to declare on 300-5 off 45 overs.

Pedmore got off to a disastrous start, losing wickets at steady intervals to the opening attack of Ollie Butterworth and Phil Newport, who finished with three wickets apiece. The other wickets were claimed by Geoff Taylor (2) and Sachin Khartade (1). The other wicket fell to a fantastic piece of fielding by Huw Dimond. C Jarrett (42) tried his best to stave off defeat, but Pedmore were bowled out for 108.

Nomads batted first and rattled up 298-6 off their 50 overs.

The honours went to Guy Davies (107no) with a fantastic century in 16 overs. He was supported by Andy Leach (24), Chris Bland (42), Ollie Flower (40) and Josh Stafford (30).

Pedmore were never in the hunt even though they set off for the target all guns blazing, but Ollie Flower and James Smith finished off the Pedmore innings with two wickets apiece. Pedmore were bowled out for 183.
