SCOTTISH rockers Franz Ferdinand are set to drop in on the area as they launch a full-out musical assault on the nation.

Fresh from a storming performance at V Festival last month, the band - fronted by Alex Kapranos - are preparing for the release of their new single Do You Want To? followed, next month, by their second album You Could Have It So Much Better...With Franz Ferdind.

And with a Mercury Music Prize award already under their belt from last year for their eponymous debut album, tickets for their latest shows look set to sell like hotcakes.

As part of their nationwide tour, Franz Ferdinand will be playing Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre on Wednesday, November 14. Tickets are now on sale, priced £21.50 and are available from the NEC Arena box office.
