The Worcester Gilbert and Sullivan Society will perform Iolanthe at the city's Swan Theatre from Tuesday, September 20, until Saturday, September 24.

"It is many years since the society performed at the Swan Theatre and we do hope that our audiences will support us at this venue," said Mary Hancock, spokeswoman for the group.

TOP BIG BAND TALENT

Talent spotters have picked more than 40 youngsters who will perform an event entitled Musical Allsorts at a large marquee at Church Stile Farm in Cradley, Malvern.

The main attraction to the event, on Sunday, September 11 at 2pm, will be the Worcestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra, playing Big Band music. Rock groups, pianists, saxophonists and vocalists will also perform.

ORGAN EXTRAVAGANZA

An organ extravaganza by the world-renowned organist Carlo Curley will be staged at St Andrew's Church in Ombersley, near Droitwich, on Friday, September 16.

All profits from the event, to take place at 7.30pm, will go towards the Ombersley Church and Spire Appeal and tickets can be purchased by calling 01905 452872.

THOSE GOOD OLD DAYS

A night of musical nostalgia will be staged at Worcester's Swan Theatre when Roll Out The Barrel is performed on Friday, September 16, at both 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

You can sing along or sit back and relax as Terry and Sussie dip into a treasure chest of old time favourites, including show songs, Cockney sing-a-longs and war songs.

I LOVES YOU PORGY

Making their debut performance in the UK, the stunning Black American Voices will be performing Porgy and Bess at Malvern Theatres.

The fully-costumed concert will be staged at the theatre on Friday, September 23, at 7.30pm.

BEST OF THE WEST END

The highly-acclaimed production of Beyond the Barricade returns to Malvern Theatres on Saturday, September 24, with a new show for 2005 following previous sell-out performances.

Originally planned as a one-off charity concert in 1997, the performance was such a success that it was repeated and the cast and crew decided to tour the production, which includes songs from the best-known West End musicals such as Miss Saigon, Sunset Boulevard and The Lion King.
