NINE-year-old showjumper Sophie Stratton reached the finals of Golden Bear national Tiny Tots Championship held at Staffordshire County Showground last weekend.
Sophie (pictured right on her pony Hot Chilli Pepper), from Colwall and a pupil at Colwall Primary School, qualified for the Scope BSJA Festival of Show Jumping, which featured the National Championships, after success at Gracelands, Droitwich.
More than 100 riders took part in the preliminary round on Wednesday and Sophie, a member of the Marden & District Riding Club and Putley Pony Club, finished 11th to reach the 33-rider final on Friday.
She then qualified for the top 20 jump-off but a loose riding hat slipped on the first jump and she had to struggle home, still finishing in a very creditable 13th place.
