John Lawson's Circus came to Ledbury for the first time this week but performers promised to return, following a warm response from local audiences.
The big tent was put up on the cricket field and was packed out on the opening night on Monday, with smaller and younger crowds at the matinee shows, clearly aimed at children and young families.
This was a modern circus, completely without animals, and making much use of acrobatics, fluorescence and special effects.
The outfit won the Circus Friends' Association "Best Small Circus" award three years ago, an honour clearly well deserved.
Highlights included The Incredible Mr Slinky, in which a suited-up man managed far more than the slinky toy could ever manage, the roller-skating Duo Peris from Spain and the Andrea the hoop dancer, from Romania.
