IN 2001, our daughter, Alice, was born in the Alex during a particularly busy August Bank Holiday.
As a first time mother, I was so grateful to the midwives for their experience, patience and understanding in helping me through a long labour and birth.
Their tireless energy was amazing.
Please save our local and much-needed maternity department and the wonderful team of specialists, without whom I and many other mothers would surely have struggled to bring our babies safely into this world.
