HOW can they even consider relocating the A&E unit of the Alexandra Hospital? Have they forgotten how essential it was with the massive pile-up on the M42 some years ago?

They have also been essential on a more personal note, when my wife was taken there following a heart attack. She probably owes her life to the closeness of the A&E.

The treatment she received there led to investigations into abnormalities in her heart and extended her life long enough for her to receive a heart transplant.

I have also had to visit them a couple of times in the last 12 months with broken bones.

The relocation of the A&E department will cost lives.

Both of our sons were born at the Alex and the maternity department is another one that they are considering relocating. This will make it harder for fathers and relatives to visit the mothers and their newborn.

We all need to vote NO to the relocation of these departments.
