AS an ex-hospital worker until I retired (Bromsgrove General 1963-1983), might I suggest that an excellent way for the local health trust to save money would be to severely prune many departmental managers (re-introduce hospital secretary and matron) who, to my mind and observation, were neither use nor ornament.
