KIDDERMINSTER angler Kevin Driver won the Sunday Open at Furnace Mill Fishery, held on Furnace Pool.

Driver drew peg five and fished in the side to land some quality carp in a mixed bag, using worm and caster.

Full result: Driver (MN Autos) 76lb 6oz (peg 5), Kevin Williams (MCM Meat) 71-5 (22), Dave Parry (MN Autos) 40-10 (2).

Maggot took over as the best bait this week, several anglers feeding 2.5mm Furnace Feed and fishing maggot (various colours) over the top. Caster and worm have also been effective.

Plenty of skimmer and roach have been caught, plus orfe and 2lb to 3lb chub.

Some of the carp are still feeding off the surface, the best method being eight metres out, fishing on the bottom, though some fish feed in the margins later in the day.

On the Gainsborough three carp to 17lb 8oz and a 19lb catfish fell to meat for one angler, another landing two carp to 19lb on a bunch of corn.
