HEREFORD's Denco has transferred itself lock, stock and barrel to new premises at nearby Moreton-on-Lugg.
The move for many of the 190 staff at the Holmer Road premises was described as bitter-sweet.
"Some had been there all their working lives and it was sad to lock the doors, turn back and say goodbye," said managing director Mark Shutler.
But the air conditioning and engineering company, which had been based in the city for 60 years, has settled into its new HQ and is fully operational. The move took two weeks and was a huge task, having to sort out and clear equipment and clutter accumulated over 50 years.
"It was similar to that of people moving house after such a long time," said Mr Shutler.
"I have to pay tribute to the staff who worked so hard to achieve it."
Shop floor equipment was transferred but Denco has introduced a new phone and IT system in its new premises.
