MALVERN Marauders U13s cruised to victory on Sunday at Dyson Perrins CE High School without conceding a point with a comfortable 29-0 win against Kidderminster.

MALVERN MARAUDERS U13S 29PTS, KIDDERMINSTER U13S 0

With a full-strength team playing in appalling conditions, Malvern showed great presence and determination from the kick-off, controlling play at their pace and staunchly defending throughout the opening period.

Excellent forward play saw the ball secured for the backs to make striking runs that broke through the visitors' defences time after time and it came as no surprise when full-back Ed Harris touched down within the first five minutes to score Malvern's opening try.

Malvern continued to dominate ball possession for the rest of the first-half, running in two more tries from Bobby Coleman and Alex Easterby. Ed Harris claimed his second of the day and with his trusty right foot, he effortlessly converted two of the tries, taking the half-time score to 24-0.

Substitutions from the growing squad of talented players brought a new batch of energetic and determined players on to the pitch for the Marauders and now playing downhill with the wind to their backs, the home side made their presence felt.

Back row forward, Tom Sandry, touched down soon after the restart to assert Malvern's dominance.

Nevertheless, after Sandry's try, Kidderminster began to settle into their game and thwarted the Marauder's surging forward drives and running back-line moves. No further scores were added and the match ended with a victory to Malvern by 29-0.

Many thanks to Dyson Perrins CE High School for the use of the facilities for this fixture.
