A long debate centred round the proposed erection underground of the electric transformer in Church Street. It appears that it is in a very difficult position and that if an accident occurred through vehicles coming into contact with it fatal results might ensue. But apart from this, we are told that the transformer is far too small for the work it is called on to perform. Malvern Gazette, Novem-ber 10, 1905.

An accident to a motor car from Homme House, Much Marcle, happened at the Greenway on Thursday night, and considering the circumstances, it is fortunate that more serious consequences did not result. It was a dark and foggy night and the driver slackened down speed to 12 miles per hour, it was stated, but somehow the car dashed into a shed used as a posting station. Ledbury Free Press, November 14, 1905.

The possibility of Malvern becoming a centre for international youth gatherings is to be explored by a special local committee, following a meeting on Tuesday at which Mr Philip Green, National Director of Worldfriends, explained that it was hoped the town might offer hospitality next summer to groups of young people wanting to get to know the English way of life. Mr Green went on to say that since coming to live in Malvern he had felt the place was ideal for an international youth fortnight. Malvern Gazette, November 11, 1955.

Parkway Village Hall, near Ledbury, was crowded on Thursday, despite very wet weather, when a concert was given in aid of the National Polio Research Fund by the local WI Drama Group. As a result, four guineas have been sent to the Fund. Ledbury Reporter, November 18, 1955.

Parking bans in Church Street, Malvern, which concerned motorists and traders for over a week, may have been unnecessary, according to the joint managing director of Spicers (Builders) Ltd. Their traffic cones were placed in Church Street ten days ago to allow J T Design, developers of the former International Stores site in Edith Walk, to make a connection with the main sewer. This was completed, but the cones remained, stretching from below the new shops development in Church Street to the Post Office at the top. Malvern Gazette, November 13, 1980.

Hereford and Worces-ter County Council is being recommended to abandon its current proposal for a 20-pitch gipsy site at The Trumpet, Ledbury. But there could be a fresh application for a reduced number of pitches on the site.

Some Trumpet residents are concerned that a reduction in pitches might not mean a reduction in caravans. Ledbury Reporter, November 13, 1980.
