SIR - Thank you for printing my letter to the editor a few weeks ago, regarding Worcester Porcelain.
I have had a response from the company and, as you can see, there is very little Worcester left in today's products.
Even what little productionthere is left is in Stoke-on-Trent.
The rest is imported from other countries. I would love to know what the cost break-down is compared with manufacture in Britain.
If you think about it, shipping china must be costly as it is heavy.
Did that far off land offer to build the factory etc?
As Britain and America grow poorer due to our industries being sent to far-off lands, who will pay for our retirements and social necessities?
A side note: After many customer complaints about Dell Technical Support being conducted from India.
The Dell management, after a lot of thought, decided to bring the technical support desks back to the USA. Thanks to consumer complaints, American jobs were saved and recreated. Dell has style in admitting it was wrong and correcting the situation.
