SEVEN children from Malvern Parish School took part in the annual Worcestershire Junior Schools Chess Competition last weekend and came away with both the top prizes.
Matthew Robinson won the Year 5/6 competition and Jai Bolton the Year 3/4 competition.
Hugh Harris came second in the Year 5/6 competition and Christopher Skipper joint second in year 3/4. Amos Rock-Davidson, Emily Walker and Elizabeth Robinson also won matches.
Malvern Parish chess club is now preparing for the British Land UK Chess Challenge in the Spring, involving children from schools across the country.
