FOUR teams from thesoccersite.co.uk Malvern League played in the Herefordshire FA Sunday Cup.

Oak Allstars will have to try again on the December conference date following their tie at Orcop falling victim to the weather.

There was a real see-saw game at Ledbury where Dynamo Ledbury entertained Kilpeck and despite being behind three times, they managed to pull back each time and grabbed a very late winner to go through 5-4.

Giving a real Jekyll and Hyde performance, Dynamo Ledbury took an early lead when Mark Davies rounded a Kilpeck defender on the edge of the area before firing home. Dynamo then fell behind to their visitors with a combination of poor defending, coupled with a first-half played in driving rain, which saw players sliding about in the mud.

Conditions improved in the second-half and Adam Thomas pulled it back to 2-2 with a shot from just inside the box. The visitors then regained the lead before Scott Mason equalised from point-blank range. Behind again Dynamo pulled themselves together and Adam Thomas grabbed his second to equalise again. A pivotal moment in the game was in the 80th minute when Kilpeck were reduced to 10 men following a player receiving a second yellow card.

With the game looking like needing extra-time, Dynamo Ledbury made their numerical superiority count when they snatched the winner in the 88th minute. A Martin Punt header from the edge of the area looped over the keeper and into the back of the net. Dynamo Ledbury will not have far to travel in the next round as they visit Oak Misfits, who won 7-1 when they entertained fellow league side Fromes Hill.

Zecky Koral capped a man-of-the-match performance with a hat-trick in his first game of the season following a lengthy suspension. Other Misfits goals came from Chris Hodges and another hat-trick from Asa Smith. Fromes' scorer was Joe Street.

There was a depleted fixture list in the league following the postponement of the two games at Sling Lane, along with the Morgan v Keyz 04 fixture, which was unable to be played after the council declared pitches unfit on Thursday and then reinstated them on Friday afternoon, by which time players had made other arrangements.

In a game which suffered from the same problem, first called-off and then reinstated, Ganglands entertained Ledbury Rangers and a superb performance by Rangers' keeper Chris Johnson kept their average down as they only managed a 5-3 victory in an entertaining game. The first-half was played in driving rain, which made conditions difficult, but Ganglands took an early lead when Tom Bethell's shot trickled over the line. Alan Barnes made it 1-1 at half-time.

Conditions improved dramatically in the second-half and Tom Bethell completed his hat-trick with Gordon Mansell notching up his usual couple of goals.

Ganglands' debutee Luke Arnold was unlucky not to score as he hit both posts and also the bar and saw keeper Chris Johnson make several fine saves. Ledbury Rangers more than played their part in a good game and another goal from Alan Barnes along with one from Karl Lancett ensured that Ganglands were made to work hard for the three points.

The remaining fixture was tinged with sadness that explained the unusual 10-6 score line to Fromes Hill Reserves as they entertained Belmont Keys. Just before kick-off, a Belmont Keys player received news of a sudden family bereavement, which meant he had to be rushed home. This left Belmont with eight available players and after talking amongst themselves they decided to go ahead with the fixture after being offered the option of postponing the game.

Fromes Hill led 7-2 at half-time but with the return of one of the players who had left earlier, Belmont gave a better account of themselves in the second-half. Fromes Hill Reserves goals came from John Gittings, Chris Holmes, Tom Wood, two from Alan Richards and five from Chas Jones with Belmont's goals coming from Rob Jones and Dave Jones, who both got hat-tricks.

The league management committee along with all the players of Belmont Keys would like to express their condolences to Matt Pearce and his family on their sad loss.

This Sunday sees the quarter-finals of the Norman Simmons Senior Cup.

The draw has been made for the first round of the President's Cup in which there are three ties and five byes.

The draw is: Fromes Hill Reserves v Dynamo Ledbury; Talbot Head or Cross Keys v Ganglands or Oak Misfits; Morgan Aero 8 v Ledbury Rangers. Games to be played on January 14.
