MALVERN Rangers' scheduled West Midlands League division one home fixture against Bridgnorth Town Reserves was postponed somewhat prematurely by Malvern Town Council on Thursday afternoon despite appeals to the contrary.

On Friday afternoon, the council advised that it was now possible to play the game. This news came too late as the league, the referee's appointment secretary, the three match officials, Bridgnorth Town, the club's main sponsors the Cross Keys Inn, who provide after match refreshments, and, of course, all the players were notified of the postponement.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Rangers, sponsored by the Cross Keys Inn, entertain Stratford League side Badsey Rangers in the Evesham Hospital Junior Cup, kick-off 2pm, players to meet at ground 12.45pm.
