SIR - Crime statistics show an approximate 50 per cent increase in crime when the clocks are put back. Wouldn't it be more logical, therefore, if we put them forward one hour instead?
We would then be going to work in the dark but coming back in the light instead of the absurd situation we have in the autumn/winter of going to work and coming home in the dark.
Not only that, but youngsters would be able to play sport outside after school instead of going indoors and soaking up TV soaps.
