IN the wake of the second successful St Nicholas Night, organisers are on the hunt for local businesses to support next year's event.

The Christmas extravaganza proved a huge success, bringing festive fun and entertainment and attracting hundreds of visitors to the town.

The event was organised by the town's Chamber of Trade and Commerce with Advantage Alcester and St Nicholas Church.

Lise Evans, chairman of Advantage Alcester and one of the organisers, said: "It was a great success with more stalls, businesses and entertainments participating this year. This is Alcester at its best; business, community and voluntary groups all working together to put on a great night of family fun and entertainment."

She said the organising committee was keen to hear feedback from the event so they could make improvements next year and from any local businesses who would consider corporate sponsorship.

She added: "We would be most interested to hear from anyone with some bright ideas who would be keen to get involved in St Nicholas Night 2006!"
