THE beer is flowing at a brewery near Alcester, with its first trial brew tried and tested just in time for Christmas.

Purity Brewing, based at Upper Spernall Farm in Spernall Ash, has successfully brewed its first product, Pure UBU, named after the brewery's dog.

The company, due to officially launch in March, has been launched by four local men - Paul Halsey, James Minkin, Paul Evans and David Beach - who set it up with backing from Advantage West Midlands, DEFRA, Warwickshire County Council and Stratford District Council.

Sales director Paul Halsey said Pure UBU would be locally available and that they were currently trialling Pure Gold, which would be available very soon.

"We successfully brewed UBU and that's nearly ready to be launched now," he said.

"We are very pleased with the outcome and we are looking forward to the new year."

Beer is available for customers direct from the brewery for Christmas on 01789 488007.
