RESIDENTS are being warned to be wary of meat offered at discount prices in the area, after an outside refrigerator at a Studley pub was broken into last week.
The padlock on the container at Old Washford Mill pub was forced sometime last Wednesday night and thieves stole £3,500 of meat, including rump steaks, rib-eye steaks, gammon steaks and bacon.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have been offered the meat at discount prices in Studley, Redditch or Alcester to come forward, as well as anyone who saw anything suspicious around the pub between 10pm on Wednesday and 8am the following morning.
Anyone with information should call PC Martin Ward at Alcester Police Station on 01789 415000 x 4823 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
