AS we near Christmas, I would like to take the opportunity of writing to you and your readers to wish everyone the greetings of the season.
At this point, about half way through my year of office as mayor, I would like to say to the citizens of Redditch how much I have enjoyed meeting them at the various events I have attended.
I have particularly enjoyed going into different schools for a variety of functions, meeting young people and attending cultural events.
Although I don't wish to single out organisations, I would just like to mention the Redditch Choral Society, whose magnificent Christmas concert I recently attended and also give my apologies to Redditch Operatic Society whose production of "Happy as a Sandbag" I unfortunately had to miss at short notice.
I look forward to meeting many more residents in the remainder of my mayoral year and would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a peaceful, prosperous and happy New Year.
