STUDLEY'S winless streak in the Midland Alliance stretched to six matches with Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to FA Cup heroes Chasetown.

Manager Kevin Rowlands has responded to his side's three-game goal drought by making a seven-day approach for Triplex's former Alvechurch striker Junior Hewitt as well as two other unnamed targets.

"Andy (Johnson) and Shane (Benjamin) are still doing well so I need a striker to come in and be prepared to wait for his chance and put pressure on them," explained Rowlands, who is also preparing seven-day approaches for a midfielder and another forward.

The Bees have picked up just two points in six games, including a goalless draw at Biddulph in midweek, and the manager will be hoping for healthier returns from the festive fixtures, starting at home to Stratford Town on Boxing Day Monday (ko 2pm).

Alvechurch skipper Keith Rostill netted the only goal as the Lye Meadow side won 1-0 at Oadby Town.

Rostill netted on 20 minutes to lift Shaun Cunnington's side following their 2-1 Birmingham Senior Cup defeat at the hands of a youthful Wolves side during the week.

The Alvechurch captain was also on target against the Championship outfit but his last minute strike came too late to deny the visitors who went through to the last four thanks to a double from Chris Cornes.

They will be hoping to bag another three league points when they entertain lowly Cradley Town on Boxing Day Monday (ko 1pm).

Neighbours Feckenham took their goal tally to 22 from four matches with Saturday's 4-0 Midland Combination win at Coleshill Town.

Lee Adams' side hit the road next Tuesday, December 27, to face Pershore Town (ko 11.30am).
