A REDDITCH sports club has clinched a prestigious national award.
There were more than 800 entrants for the Club Mirror Awards and the Sports and Fitness Club of the Year accolade went to the Redditch Cricket, Hockey and Rugby Club.
And there was more good news for the Bromsgrove Road venue as it also made it through to the last three of the Refurbishment Club of the Year.
The awards reward ingenuity and dedication, recognising the important contribution clubs make to the local community.
Club secretary David Eley said: "The club sees itself as a landmark for the community and is pleased that many schools plus the Council's Sports Action Unit make regular use of the facilities.
"It must be emphasised how indebted we are to Redditch Council, Sport England and the governing bodies of all the sports we stage for the tremendous support they have given us."
