A CHIPPING Campden School team depleted by a school trip was given a shock by neighbours St Catherine's at the final action of 2005 in the Cotswold League.
Rory Flowers put the junior school into an early lead only to see Max Outteridge equa-lise. Jonathan Carter and Flow-ers deservedly put the Saints ahead again only for goals from Grace Williams and Geo-rge Woodall to salvage a draw late in the game.
Luke McDonagh had been moved from his place outfield to defend the goal and it pro-ved an inspired choice as his efforts ensured his team avoided defeat.
In the game against Ilming-ton, McDonagh saved a barrage of shots to help his side to a 3-1 victory.
Flowers scored twice early on, Charlie Pinfold pulled one back, only to see a short handed St Catharine's wrap it up with a Flowers' hat-trick.
Ilmington suffered a 6-2 defeat in a match dominated by the Pinfold brothers Harry and Charlie.
The latter Charlie scored twice for Ilmington, but 'big brother' did the same for CCS, while Outteridge (2), Woodall and Williams completed the scoring.
In the night's final exchange, Blockley led for most of the game against St Catharine's after Tim Rew's opener.
In the final seconds a penalty shot was converted by Molly Rogers to earn the draw in this non-league match.
St Catharine's have now qualified for the play-offs along with Dormer House and Temple Guiting B.
