LAST Saturday saw fourth round action in the Fisheasy Winter League at Hampton Ferry and Evesham Town Waters.

Ten teams of five competed on a cold but dry winter's day when the winner was former tackle dealer and local angler Barrie Stayte who weighed in 32lbs 10ozs off Town peg 42.

In second place was another local angler fishing for the Shak-espeare team, Tony Bench, fishing Town peg 53, and brought 11lbs 3ozs to the scales.

Team Diawa Gordon League's Steve Ford was third with 8lbs 4ozs off Town peg 36.

Evesham Jubilee Society

THE Fur and Feather match at the Fishery got under way only after the ice had been broken.

It was David Runickles who warmed to the task the best as his weight of 5.2.0 proved the best of the day.

The Hangover Cup and prize match for members only will take place on Common Road Waters on Monday, January 2 when the draw will take place at 8am.

THERE'S an Evesham Festival qualifier in the shape of the Fed-up Open next Wednesday, December 28.

Competitors are asked to book in at tackle shops where more details can be obtained.

The rescheduled Fur and Fea-ther match takes place on Sat-urday, December 31 when again places can be reserved at tackle shops or by ringing Howard on 01386 47776.

The draws for both matches will take place at the Ferry Cafe.
