BECKFORD residents will now somewhere to sit in the village after the parish council decided to have a special bench installed in memory of an active Women's Institute member.
The new oak bench to the memory of Hilda Bloomfield has been installed under the oak tree next to Beckford village hall. The WI has planted bulbs around the bench.
Parish council chairman Rupert Ellis remembers Hilda as an active member of the community, especially within the Women's Institute and served as a booking clerk for the village hall for 13 years.
Mr Ellis said: "She's still missed in the village since her death early in 2005."
