A DUCK race held in a Worcester park has raised £500 for St Richard's Hospice.
But these ducks were yellow and plastic rather than the feathery kind.
Worcestershire's Property Service (WPS), a one-stop commercial property finder, organised the event in Gheluvelt Park, off Barbourne Road, Barbourne, which saw 100 commercial property agents from around Worcestershire, Birmingham and London pay £5 per duck to enter.
The ducks, which were numbered, were dropped into the water from the footbridge and raced 300m downstream.
The duck belonging to an Evesham-based agent came in first.
Pat Prosser who manages Worcestershire's Property Service, which is operated by the county council on behalf of Worcestershire Partnership, said: "Rather then sending out the usual card and branded pen, we were inspired to do something both enjoyable and worthwhile this Christmas."
