WITH reference to the letter in the December 8 issue headed "Civic Centre is ideal for hotel", although it may make an ideal hotel, the fact remains that the profits from the sale would go towards the single site council building.

If we have to have such a facility, I would have thought the Civic Centre, which was purpose-built, with its offices and council chamber, would be ideal.

All it needs is extending by constructing a building of the same size behind and alongside it, facing the river.

There would, I believe, even be enough room for the buildings to be separated so the present windows on the river side of the present building could still be effective, with one or two corridors connecting them.

There is a large car park nearby, and an excellent hall, to be used for exhibitions and public meetings, which could also be used as an employees' dining room.

Of course, the main problem seems, to me, to be that it isn't Kidderminster.

I suppose the councillors will come back and say no preferred site as yet has been chosen as they are still consulting.

We will see.
