SIR - It is marvellous isn't it? Give a man some authority and it goes to his head. I refer to our Labour Home Secretary Charles Clarke, who is supposed to have said that a merger creating a West Midlands police superforce would take place, "despite" a public consultation! (Worcester News, Wednesday, December 14). Who does he think he is - God?
