WORCESTERSHIRE'S high-ranking American Football side Redditch Arrows have revealed their coaching line-up for the 2006 BAFL season.

Ian Hill returns from a 12-month absence in the game to take over as head coach, bringing vast experience and knowledge gained over the last 20 years.

Under Hill's last tenure, Arrows went undefeated during the regular season and won the Division Two South Western Conference.

The previous head coach Roger Smithies, who was BAFCA youth coach of the year in 2004, is also staying to assist with responsibilities for quarterbacks and fitness.

Errol Perkins is also back at the club and will take over the role of defensive co-ordinator/linebacker coach. Perkins will be assisted in this area by Loz Baker as defensive line coach and Karl Dodd as defensive back/special teams coach.

On offense, Will Powell makes the switch from defensive captain to offensive co-ordinator/running back coach.

Ron Gifford is receivers coach and Jay Smith will be offensive line coach.

Club chairman Chris Halford said: "We are delighted to see Ian and Errol return this season.

"Their presence will undoubtedly make a significant difference to our chances.

"We are also very pleased that Roger Smithies is staying with the club. Roger did an excellent job last season for us while Ian was away and the hand-over back to Ian has been very smooth, amicable and forward looking.

"We firmly believe that this coaching team is the strongest that the club has ever had and on a par, if not better, than a lot of other teams."

Arrows are now recruiting both experienced and inexperienced players for next year. They would like to talk to anyone interested and would also welcome back former players.
