SIR - I heard on the local radio people being asked their ideas about a name and ideas for the new riverside development in Worcester funded through a £25m lottery grant. A public space, amphitheatre and ice rink sounds great.

The idea of the Lighthouse of Alexandria in the Worcester News made me think how about the Severn Wonders of Worcestershire?

I envisage a tasteful construction of maybe a lighthouse, perhaps based on the spire next to the technical college? Then, a riverside crazy golf attraction featuring the Severn Wonders of Worcestershire which could have model village type reconstructions of, say, the Cathedral, river bridge and cricket ground, the Malvern Hills, perhaps parts of New Street or Friar Street and other beautiful visitor attractions from around the county such as the Broadway Tower and the fountain at Witley Court?

Our family really enjoyed our visit to a pirates-themed crazy golf place in Orlando, Florida, and feel that a similar attraction here would do really well, providing a fun activity and focus for visitors of all ages to the riverside and city.

The people of the county could be asked to vote on their favourite feature and feel they've had their say on promoting the best bits of Worcestershire.

This could be a great visitor attraction for all age groups and could advertise other great places to visit in the county - it might even make money for the future upkeep and development of the attraction. I hope you like this idea and that it will be given serious consideration as part of Worcester's future riverside development.

STELLA WOOD,

Worcester.
