LEDBURY'S Terry Jenkins missed out on a third round date with darts legend and defending Ladbrokes.com world champion Phil Taylor following his shock defeat on Tuesday.

The world number 15 was outplayed by qualifier Andy Hamilton, who produced a brilliant display at the Circus Tavern to set up the clash with fellow Stoke player Taylor.

Jenkins had produced some brilliant darts in his first-round 3-2 win over Jimmy Mann but the roles were reversed in this tie as Hamilton scorched through the first set with a three-dart average of 102.48.

Hamilton, who had defeated Bob Anderson in the first round, pushed on in the next two sets and dropped just two legs in the process to move within one set of victory.

Jenkins hit back and claimed the fourth set with some great darts before Hamilton regained his composure and took the match in the next set, closing with a double 16.
