STOURPORT Swifts are to issue an FA complaint following Redditch United's advances for striker Rory May.

Swifts manager Roy Rencher claims Reds' caretaker boss Gary Whild has made an illegal approach for May, who spent a loan spell at the Valley Stadium last season.

Rencher blasted Whild for not contacting the Walshes Meadow club under usual FA guidelines and also accused 6ft 4ins May of disloyalty.

Former Coventry forward May was signed last month following his release from Sutton Coldfield Town and helped Swifts climb out of Southern League Division One West's relegation zone with several vital goals.

"We've not received any seven-day notice from Redditch. There's been nothing," said Rencher. "All I received was a phone call from Rory.

"I know Gary (Whild) and he should have had the decency to speak to me.

"I'm very, very annoyed by this. Rory wants to leave. I feel as though he has betrayed me. When I brought him here, a lot of people questioned my decision. Nobody fancied taking him because he wasn't fit.

"I stuck by him, got him fit and scoring goals again. I gave him the opportunity and told him that, at the end of the season, there would be no problem him moving on if there was interest.

"He's been a bit hasty and disloyal, but I know he's not working and I'm led to believe Redditch are offering to treble his money.

"The secretary is sending an official complaint to the FA and, according to him, Rory cannot play for about two or three weeks while they look into it."

Swifts can ease their relegation worries at Rushall Olympic tomorrow (1pm), with defender Paul Hatton back from holiday. Lee Ross will partner Richard Burgess in attack.
