A TALENTED Colwall musician has beaten hundreds of other young hopefuls to win a coveted place in a national orchestra.
Isobel Flett, 15, of Brookmill Close, has been chosen to play the oboe in the National Children's Wind Orchestra, which performs in major concert halls.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to have gained a place with this prestigious orchestra and I'm very grateful for all of the support I have received," she said.
Surprisingly, Isobel has only been playing the oboe for three and a half years.
Her teacher, Paul Aldred, said: "She's an outstanding pupil - very musical indeed. She's a natural talent."
Isobel is also a member of the County Youth Orchestra and the County Wind Ensemble and has recently taken her grade VII oboe exam.
A student at Aylestone School, she gained an A* in her music GCSE, which she took two years early.
