THE Government's humiliation over the failure to regionalise the northern area of Britain is being 'remedied' by creeping back-door methods.

An example is the merging (regionalisation) of the police - with fighting terrorism as the feeble excuse - and which is opposed by many of the police forces and public, who need police presence on the streets to prevent small-scale crime.

With a regionalised police force, it's an easy step to impose arming of all police to 'harmonise' with the policy of the EU.

We pay for policing out of our taxes. The public should be consulted.
