LITTLE Jude Evans could have a special helmet made to re-shape his head, thanks to an article in the Advertiser/Messenger.

The six-month-old baby, from Royal Worcester Crescent, The Oakalls, has an appointment later this month and may wear a plastic helmet to correct a flattening to the side of his head.

His caring mum, Wendy, found out about the possible treatment after reading an article in the Christmas edition paper concerning Bromsgrove tot Holly Lindsay, who has a condition called positional plagiocephaly.

We ran a story on the youngster wearing a helmet earlier in the year, and also how it helped her.

Wendy said: "My husband, Duncan, and my mum first noticed a problem with Jude's head when he was about six weeks old.

"Duncan read the story in the Advertiser/Messenger and we cut it out for information. We kept an eye on Jude as his problems were the same as Holly's."

But Wendy said although her GP gave helpful advice nothing was done to correct the problem, which included a bulging forehead and eye.

She said: "We went back to the doctor about two months later because the side of Jude's head was flat, and although GPs were helpful we were still not happy."

The couple then referred back to the article in the paper and contacted the private clinic in Leeds - run by Medistox Ltd, which is the leading UK supplier of the custom-made remoulding devices.

They now have their first consultation later this month and then will decide what action to take.

Wendy added: "We don't exactly know Jude's condition, but it seems the same as Holly's.

"It is thanks to the Advertiser/Messenger that we know about the problem and about the clinic. Now we are hoping to get treatment for Jude."
