SIR - One morning recently, I was driving into Worcester city centre from Lower Wick along Bromwich Road, following a mobile speed camera van.

I drove at a constant 30mph and was amazed to see the speed camera van disappearing into the distance in front of my eyes! Driving at 30mph, there was no way I could keep up with it along Bromwich Road.

I eventually caught up with the van when we reached slow moving traffic on Tybridge Street only for the driver to slot into my lane directly behind me. As the traffic began to move freely and I reached a speed of 30mph, the driver of this mobile speed camera van chose to tailgate my car in an effort to push me over the speed limit. He was not successful! I should point out that I am 100 per cent in favour of speed cameras, but surely there should be one and the same law for every road user on our roads?

What would have been my fate had I sped past his camera, I wonder? Such double standards are despicable.

S D EAST,

Worcester.
