SIR - It is sad that residential wardens at Old People's sheltered accommodation blocks are being done away with. In the 1980s, I lived in a flat in Keswick Drive. The two female wardens, first Chris then Daphne, became real pals. By living close to the unit, they really got to know the individual residents and were always on call.
