TAIWO Atieno has admitted that Kidderminster Harriers did not see the best of him after calling time on his spell at Aggborough.

The 20-year-old striker ended his three-month loan stint by returning to parent club Walsall earlier this week.

And Atieno, who scored six goals in 14 starts and eight substitute appearances for Harriers, revealed he was plagued by personal problems during his time at Kidderminster.

He got off to a scorching start after stepping off the bench to sink Woking with an opening day double, including a penalty and a bullet header.

Atieno also scored from the spot in 3-2 win over Canvey Island and nodded in his other two goals in the victory at Cambridge and the 1-1 draw with Hereford.

Despite getting himself into promising positions, he often lacked the killer instinct in the box and failed to score with his feet from open play for Harriers.

"I was fully committed to Kidderminster and wanted to win and play well for them," he said.

"It just didn't seem to happen for me. I got off to a great start and they are a great bunch of lads there, but we just didn't combine well enough."

Atieno revealed that his time at Kidderminster coincided with a host of off-the-field difficulties.

"I just want to go back to Walsall and see if I can get in there," he added.

"I've had quiet a bad time off-the-field lately with a few things taking my mind of football.

"That has stopped me from playing my best at Kidderminster."
