KIDDERMINSTER Carolians showed their best form for a while in the first half of their 38-12 friendly win over Dudley Kingswinford seconds.

Despite fielding a fairly strong side including ex-Marlpool Lane men Neil Shillingford and Leyton Wilkinson, DKs were unable to stop KCs racing into a 35-0 interval lead.

Russ Slater bagged a brace while there were also tries for Rob Delaney, Jon Taft and Chris Pinner who faultlessly kicked all five conversions.

But they were unable to maintain their momentum after the break and only mustered a further Pinner penalty, while DKs saved face with two tries and a conversion.

KCs travel to old rivals and Midlands Three West North leaders Bridgnorth at 2.15pm on Saturday.

KCs thirds got back to winning ways after the end of their unbeaten run with a 33-24 win over Bromsgrove Vets.

There were two tries from John Shire and one each from Dennis Lloyd Jones, Grant Stewart and skipper Spencer Crockett, who also added four conversions.
