WITH Radar languishing near the foot of the table and Claines near the top, this was a fine win for the home side even though the visitors were not at full strength.

MALVERN RADAR 4, CLAINES 1

The opening exchanges were even and Claines had two good chances when the ball over the top caught Radar out, only for Mason and Gillies to shoot from the edge of the area when they probably could have got closer to the goal.

Radar took the lead with a rather lucky goal on 20 minutes when Scott Senter's harmless looking shot from 30 yards was spilled over the line by Darren Garbett in the Claines goal.

It was soon 2-0 when Clive Churchill's great through-ball found Nial Henderson, who easily scored from 12 yards. Two goals just before half-time sealed victory for Radar. Jason Lloyd scored a deserved goal, finishing off a fine Radar move, and Churchill added the fourth from the penalty spot after Henderson had been unceremoniously brought down in the box, the defender was rather lucky to escape with just a yellow card.

Claines re-shuffled in the second-half and although Keith Angel and Andy Price tried to rally the team, chances were few and far between in a scrappy half.

Radar wasted two good chances, Senter and Churchill the culprits.

The visitors grabbed a consolation in the 88th minute through Price.

This Sunday, Radar are away to AFC Barbourne. Meet RSRE Club at 9.30am.
