SIR - So another public toilet is under threat at Upton-upon-Severn. Is there no one among all these councillors who can come up with an answer to this most basic of human needs?

When I was a lad, 80 or so years ago, my grandmother used to take me to Worcester on Saturday mornings travelling by Midland Red from Clevelode crossroads. By this time it came to the return trip, I wanted to "spend a penny". I recall the gents in Angel Place was manned by an attendant who had a room separated by a glass screen from where, with his alsatian dog, he ensured civilised behaviour in the toilet. This facility is especially important for the use by visitors, a fact seemingly overlooked by our councillors.
