FOLLOWING the recent article about the Droitwich by-pass being converted to one lane southbound.

This road has functioned satisfactorily for over the 25 years. Two unconnected accidents do not make the road dangerous. The main problem is a lack of maintenance of the road and a sub-standard surface (laid by Worcestershire County Council) and the lack of a central barrier.

Like all roads this road should have been inspected regularly and upgrading (ie: central barriers) as the traffic flows increased.

The road is much more dangerous in its present state with temporary cones etc than previously.

This latest proposal is whitewash by the Traffic Partnership to cover their inactivity over the last decade.

Where are our elected representatives in this discussion, they appear to be keeping their heads below the parapet as usual.
